2012 Sherwood Center Benefit

The 22nd Annual Sherwood Center Blues and BBQ Benefit will be held September 7 & 8, 2012 at
BB’s Lawnside Bar-B-Q. Proceeds help those in Kansas City with autism and developmental disabilities.

Friday, September 7th:
6:00 p.m. – Shinetop, Jr. - Blues and boogie piano
7:15 p.m. – Four Fried Chickens & a Coke - A 10-piece horn-driven R&B, Soul and Blues band with that Memphis Sound
8:30 p.m. – DC Bellamy - Authentic American blues master, DC spent many years as a sideman for Betty Everett, Donny Hathaway and others.
9:45 p.m. – John Paul’s Flying Circus - One of the best blues bands in Kansas City, featuring blues harp man John Paul Drum and guitarist extraordinaire, Bill Dye.

Saturday, September 8th:
3:00 p.m. – Diane “Mama” Ray - Mama Ray has provided Kansas City with a jazz-meets-blues jam for 26 years
4:15 p.m. – Trampled Under Foot - Nominated for three 2012 Blues Music Awards: Band Of The Year, Best Bassist, Best DVD
5:30 p.m. – Shannon & The Rhythm King - Original blues and rousing versions of classic and contemporary Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul and Jazz
6:45 p.m. – Levee Town - Music ranges from covers of Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Bob Dylan, and Big Joe Turner to originals
8:00 p.m. – Bobby Smith - A Kansas City saxophone legend
9:15 p.m. – Linda Shell’s Blues Thang - A Kansas City tradition that mingles jazz and blues with a swing rhythm.
